About

I am a NC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience. I work with teens, adults, couples and families with mental health concerns, life stress, grief, depression, anxiety, adjustment and personal growth issues, trauma, relationship stressors, and career stress and changes.

I have always desired to work with people as they navigate their life journeys. In my younger years, I was a camp counselor to young girls and worked with people in the recreation field. Growing up in a family of helpers, I found my heart was also leaning toward an advanced career in the helping field. My own life stressors and setbacks led me to seek a career as a counselor. Being a counselor has been rewarding and intriguing, and I have never stopped learning and reaching for more information to expand my knowledge and the use of tools and information to share with clients in their healing journeys.

I use an integration of various therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a focus on Transactional Analysis/Redecision Therapy, Reality Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, and Energy Psychology techniques. These are well respected and extensively researched therapies, and these theoretical orientations include psychological, social, and cultural domains. The counseling process can be exciting, with the goal being to bring about positive change. At times it can also be challenging and uncomfortable as we work together through particular problems. The goal is to find a healthier life balance using tools in every day life that focus on personal transformation and wholeness. In a supportive, compassionate and confidential environment we will work together to find ways to bring about positive life changes and a renewed sense of self. Life is constantly changing and improving your quality of life is a journey that takes desire and commitment.

Set yourself free and choose a healthy future by creating a renewed sense of self! I look forward to walking with you on this journey!
